Tauck and BBC Earth
Ensure Intriguing Itineraries
Tauck Bridges presents 19 family tours and cruises
designed to build bridges between generations within
a family through shared and enriching travel. For
instance, activities that kids to grandparents can
enjoy on the new Grand European Family Holiday
tour include exploring the Tower of London, touring
a French palace wearing 17th-century costumes and
completing a sculpture safari around Rome.
Another new tour, South Africa: Epic Family
Adventure, sees families riding bikes around Soweto,
zip lines over the Kruis River, a cable car to the top of
Cape Town’s Table Mountain and safari jeeps in Kruger
National Park. This adventure is enhanced with Tauck’s
new partnership with BBC Earth that includes original,
short nature films to add insight into wildlife sightings,
BBC Earth programming and use of high-tech devices
on tours like infrared camera traps.
BBC Earth will also be an integral part of the new
Costa Rica: Jungles & Rainforests eight-day itinerary
launching in 2016.
Tauck has been expanding their river cruise ship
fleet and will launch two additional ships in 2016. The
company recently debuted a new family river cruise,
Castles on the Rhine: Family Riverboat Adventure, an
eight-day trip from Basel to Amsterdam. Highlights
include riding the world’s steepest cogwheel train
to the top of Mt. Pilatus in the Swiss Alps, cruising
Amsterdam’s canals and exploring Reichenstein Castle.
Tauck Bridges itineraries are offered in Europe,
North America, Africa and Latin America for ages eight
and over.
Uniworld Triples Family-Friendly Programs
Uniworld is expanding family departures from five to
13 in 2016 due to strong demand. The cruises provide
opportunities for families to learn about European
culture, art, music and history in an engaging way.
On the new Danube Discovery & Prague, families
visit the Nuremberg Toy Museum, tour the BMW car
production plant, bike to a medieval cemetery, ride
Segways in Vienna, go whitewater rafting and see the
Lipizzan stallions.
