The original hotel opened in 1890 and catered
to intrepid bands of artists, climbers and scenery
photographers, but over the years the original lodge
has been transformed into a stunning mountain
retreat. The public rooms, with their towering
ceilings and soaring windows perfectly complement
the exterior vistas and reflect the hotel’s elegant chalet

Recent renovations to the property include
guestrooms, suites, restaurants and public spaces. In
addition, the Chateau rebranded the four Belvedere
Suites and the Royal Suite into a Signature Suite
collection with new names and benefits. The Signature
Suites are called “Belvedere Suite,” “Fairview Suite,”
“Glacier Suite,” “Whitehorn Suite” and “Tom Wilson
Suite.” Benefits include Fairmont Gold access and
