With a limited number of guests on the vast, majestic
15,000-acre resort property, there exists a generosity of
space at Tortuga Bay that is not found at most Caribbean

its own private airport, so guests are whisked through
customs and immigration to a waiting car to transfer

Designed by Oscar de la Renta and inspired by
the region’s rich, indigenous culture, Tortuga Bay’s
villas envelop guests in a true Dominican experience.
Elegantly furnished and decorated with authentic
materials, the 13 open-air villas consist of 30 suites
that are dotted along five miles of palm-fringed
paradise. Villas range in size from one- to four-
guest suites, all of which feature large sitting areas
and balconies. Villas feature spacious interiors and
balconies with magnificent views of La Cana Golf
Course or the crystal-clear blue Caribbean waters.
All rooms include the finest Frette linens, separate
kitchenettes for each bedroom and luxurious, well-
appointed coralline stone bathrooms. And to ensure
guests’ total satisfaction, each villa comes with its
own manager. Guests are also given a golf cart for
