beatnik coffee shops and some sleazy
strip joints.
It feels both boho and funky and
a little disappointing. I was born in this city more
than half a century ago, although we moved to
the East Coast when I was three. I’ve never felt
like a San Franciscan, and while my birth
certificate lists my address, I have no desire to
find my first home. What I do care about is
checking out Caffe Trieste
where Francis Ford Coppola
wrote
The Godfather.
