From detoxifying volcanic mud to hot river stone
massages, Gló’s spa treatments use ingredients grown
at Rosalie Bay Resort and found on Dominica
to provide natural healing. Open from 8 a.m. to
8 p.m., the spa has a full-service menu with a variety
of treatments including massages using their own
handmade coconut oil blend, detoxifying body wraps
and a renewing Dominican Body Glow.
One particular guest favorite treatment includes
the Cocoa Gló where fresh, local, handcrafted cocoa
tea (rich in anti-oxidants and skin tonifiers) is mixed
with sea salt, coconut oil, and local plants such as
basil and lime. Another favorite is the Feed Your Skin
Enzyme Facial, which is great for normal, dry, mature
or sun damaged skin. This facial uses pumpkin or
papaya enzyme masques to dissolve excess skin cells
while nourishing and plumping up the dermis,
making the skin look and feel more youthful and
hydrated. For an extra special occasion, spa guests can
opt for a massage in the tree house which sits above
Rosalie River among the trees. All spa treatments can
be customized to fit your individual needs. After your
treatment, you are invited to sit on the veranda
surrounding the spa, sip fresh coconut water and relax
while listening to the trickling sounds of the river.
A hand-built sanctuary seamlessly blending into
its 22-acre surroundings, Rosalie Bay Resort is nestled
in the foothills of the UNESCOWorld Heritage Site
of the Morne Trois Pitons where the Rosalie River
meets the Atlantic Ocean. Tucked within the resort’s
lush landscape are nine cottages housing 28 rooms
and suites. Attention to detail is seen throughout
each air-conditioned accommodations, like hand-
carved four-poster beds and armoires; colorful,
original local artwork; luxurious bathrooms with
granite countertops; vessel sinks and rain showers;
