are a truly transformative experience. World View
Enterprises is based in Tucson, Arizona. Poynter is
fully involved in ensuring the successful development
and operation of World View.
“World View Explorer flights will be launching in
2017,” Poynter stated. “One launch site we are looking
at closely for future manned flights is Page, Arizona as
it has fantastic weather for launching balloons and
offers beautiful views of the Grand Canyon.”
The capsule, with two pilots and six passengers,
will lift off before sunrise. The capsule will ascend to its
peak altitude and passengers will witness a sunrise like
they have never seen before. The spacecraft will remain
there for roughly two hours, as passengers marvel at
the distant Earth below. It will then begin its descent,
the balloon will separate at 50,000 feet and the
permanently-deployed parafoil, under the control of
the pilots, will bring the capsule to its landing site.
World View high altitude
balloon flights will offer
the most affordable means
of viewing the Earth from
100,000 feet.
