Oceania Cruises Celebrates 80th
Birthday of Executive Culinary
Director Jacques Pépin
Oceania Cruises recently partnered with
Food &
Wine
magazine for a gala event during the Food &
Wine Classic in Aspen to honor Master Chef Jacques
Pépin on his 80th birthday. A culinary legend, Pépin
has been part of the Oceania Cruises family since the
line’s inception, serving as Executive Culinary Director.
The longstanding relationship with Oceania Cruises
led to the opening of his first restaurant at sea, Jacques,
aboard the highly acclaimed ships
Marina
and
Riviera
.
Pépin’s influence extends beyond cuisine served in
the restaurants as Oceania Cruises introduced a two-
day culinary immersion program that celebrates the life
and legacy of the noted chef as part of the curriculum
in its state-of-the-art Culinary Center on both
Marina
and
Riviera
.
In collaboration with Chef Pépin, Oceania
Cruises is creating a new class titled “La Technique: A
Celebration of Jacques Pépin’s 80th Birthday,” which
covers techniques covered in his book,
La Technique
, as
well as Essential Pépin.
Oceania Cruises recently announced a significant
expansion of its popular Culinary Discovery Tours
series with new tours debuting in Barcelona, Marseille,
Antibes (France), Catania (Italy) and Iraklion
(Heraklion, Greece) during select sailings aboard
Marina and Riviera.
The Culinary Center is also introducing 20 new
classes showcasing regional cuisine from Morocco,
Peru, the Pacific Northwest and more.
