friendly 5K, training for your first marathon
or looking for something much bigger
—there’s an exciting running event to
satisfy your need for speed!
Walt Disney World
Marathon Weekend
Orlando, Florida
January 7-11, 2015
The Happiest Place on Earth just got a
whole lot sportier with a full range of
Disney-themed races, including a
marathon, half-marathon, and a very
“Goofy” 5K family fun run. Tour the
theme parks and pose for plenty of
photo ops along the way. The Walt
Disney World® Marathon is the final race
of the weekend where you can complete
the most magical 26.2 miles on Earth
and run through all four Walt Disney
World® Theme Parks, starting at Epcot®,
continuing on to the Magic Kingdom®
Park, Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Park
and Disney’s Hollywood Studios before
an exhilarating finish back at Epcot®.
Half Corked Marathon
Weekend
Osoyoos, B.c, Canada
May 22-24, 2015
The Half Corked Marathon has become
one of the most highly anticipated
events in Canada. Winding through
vineyards in the heart of Okanagan wine
country, this 18km route is designed to
be enjoyed and savored. Save the
record-setting for another race and
spend this one gazing at scenery and
sampling local food and vintages at 10
or so stations along the way. Warning:
tickets go on sale in February for this
event and sell out fast. Remember, this
race is all about having fun. If you are
looking to set a land speed record, this
probably isn’t the event for you. But you
will certainly have an awesome time!
Bay to Breakers
San Francisco, California
May 17, 2015
San Francisco’s Bay to Breakers is the
oldest consecutively run annual footrace
in the world since May 1912. With a
starting point near the San Francisco
Bay, the 12K race runs west through the
city and finishes at the Great Highway
where breakers crash onto the Pacific
Coast’s Ocean Beach. A quintessential
San Francisco experience for 102 years,
the race is interwoven into the fabric of
the city and is a true reflection and
celebration of life between the breakers
and the Bay.
Marathon des Sables
Ouarzazate, Morocco
April 3-13, 2015
The Marathon des Sables is billed as the
toughest footrace on earth. The race is a
grueling multi-stage adventure through
a formidable landscape in one of the
world’s most inhospitable climates—the
Sahara desert. The rules require you to
be self-sufficient, to carry on your back
everything, except water, that you need
to survive. Under the scorching sun, life-
long friendships are fostered through
days spent running across saltpans, up
desert-mountains, through ruined towns
and through the occasional sand storm.
